Question by caralee1780: Can Lyme disease worsen after antibiotic treatment?
I’ve been on antibiotics for 2 months, when I started the treatment I wasn’t that bad, a little pain in my feet. Since I’ve been on the antibiotics, the pain has spread to my whole body and I’ve been in nonstop pain since going on the antibiotics…any advice? I know about the Herx, but I thought that was only supposed to last a little while after I took the antibiotics, and supposed to start getting better.

Generally speaking, a very long course of antibiotics is required to cure Lyme’s disease. Are you certain that’s what you have, or is your doctor just basing his diagnosis on your symptoms? You should call him and report this worsening. He may want to add a second antibiotic for cross-coverage.
Good luck…

Even If your dog have a lyme it cannot be transmitted from dog to human. The only agent of Lyme transmission are ticks.
Lyme doesn’t show up in 10 completely symptomless years unless there was a reinfection after another tick bite

Question by : What’s wrong with my dog after we took her for a walk today ? ASAP?
We took my dog for a walk in the woods on a path by our house, and all of sudden when we came back she got scared my step dad said. Then she went by him or by the door, now she is shaking. She won’t come by me well she will if i am on couch or laying on the bed but if i want to hold her on my lap while i am on a chair or something she won’t come by me. She shakes when shes by me i think but she don’t shake when she is alone on the floor or by my step dad i don’t think. I only see or feel her shaking by me. I don’t think i did anything to her that would make her scared of me. unless i accidentally stepped on her tail. I told her i was sorry if i did anything and that i loved her and she is still shaking. She did have a tick on her though if that would make any difference. But when took her in the woods 2 days ago she was fine just tired worn out like i was.
What is wrong ? If shes not better in a couple days should i have my mom take her to the vet ? She did have lime disease a while ago.
I am feeling sad beacuse i don’t think she likes me or loves me.
She is 7 years old i think or 6 i forgot but i think its 7 or 6.

Question by Nicolette Huth: Can Lyme disease come back after treatment?
I had it for a little over month maybe even 2 months before I was diagnosed. I had to take 3 pills of antibotics a day for 3 weeks but I usually would only take 1 pill a day and sometimes even no pill a day from being busy. During the medication the symptoms went away and now that I’m done medication it seems like they’re coming back? So could that be the lyme desease again?

Lyme disease has a special bond, the doctor has to know how to test for it, the type of antibiotics to use and for how long, in general he has to know what he’s doing. Most do not.
I’m a medlabtech and have worked in a large med facility for years. My own daughter had Lyme’s. She was tested but it come back negative. I looked at her symptoms and told her there’s been a mistake, she has Lyme’s and needs treatment.
Of course the doctor balked because she said my “dad said so and he’s in the med field too” so, being stubborn the doctor wouldn’t reliant. I told her which doctor to go to and don’t tell him the past, allow him to get his own finding. Sure enough, she tested negative but he was loose enough o retest and find out why it came back negative.
In time she had to be flushed with meds and retested. She’s O.K. now I don’t know of anyone that it came back on, unless they never had it to start with or ?

Question by 123456: can i donate eggs after having lyme disease?
i did the whole process of donating eggs up until the actual donation part then i got lymes disease. they caught it early…i pulled the tick off 3 weeks ago. and i am on antibiotics for 2 weeks. will they let me donate after the antibiotics are done?
Best answer:
Answer by Dekayel
Don’t know what the rules are for egg donation. Relative to your own health, however: please know that the “standard” treatment of two weeks of antibiotics isn’t always enough to rid your system of Lyme.
Have you been evaluated for co-infections? (Other nasty stuff you can get from the same tick bite that gives you Lyme.) If tick-borne infections are not treated appropriately, they can haunt you for the rest of your life. Seems to me, you might want to put the egg-donation thing on hold and concentrate on getting your personal health back on track.

Question by pearl: tick bite scar that won’t go away after 3 months?
I had a tick bite over 3 months ago. I did not know how long it was attached to me. I called the doctor and got a blood test 6 weeks after being bitten, and luckily no lime disease was found. But the scar is always there. The inner circle of the scar is dark and about a pea size, surrounded by a lighter dark circle about half an inch in diameter. The whole area is harden, and itching like crazy sometimes. Does anyone know if this is common and is there any cream to treat this. The bite mark is on my leg and it looks so disgusting when I wear short
Thanks!

I dont think thats an scar… It seems like an internal injury thats healing itself.

I can only say if you have had all those tests;your daughter might be suffering from a Psycho-somatic disorder.Stress will give her those sort of symptoms. My recomendation would be to try a Hypnotherapist. You would be surprised what they can achieve.

Question by Tyler Daniels: Rash after large tick bite?
I was bit by a tick about a week ago, and have developed a small bulls-eye shaped rash. I know this is typical of lyme disease, but I also know that ticks that carry lime disease are very small. The tick that I pulled off of my leg was very large, one of the largest ticks I’ve ever seen, and brown in color. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question by psyroad2086: How long after a tick bites you does it start transmitting possible diseases like lyme disease?
I got a bite this weekend on my foot but it was only there for 3 hours or so, would it have already transmitted the lyme bacteria if it was infected?
Best answer:
Answer by Dekayel
Transmission has been demonstrated in less than six hours. It bodes well for you that yours was only three. However, that’s no guarantee that you are free and clear. In addition to possible Lyme, you might also have gotten one or more of what are called “co-infections”–other nasty stuff the tick can transmit at the same time as Lyme.
Watch yourself closely over the coming days. Any sign of a rash? Fever? Headache? Dizziness? Flu-like symptoms? All are cause for concern.
