I just found out my daughters boyfriend has Lyme disease. Does anyone personally have this and what should ?

Monday, February 6th, 2012

Question by married with children: I just found out my daughters boyfriend has Lyme disease. Does anyone personally have this and what should ?
What should my daughter and I know about this? Is it forever, does it hurt? Will he have a life of crippling pain? Any thoughts and ideas, Please
He seems very healthy and plays high school football. I would not have known differently.

You need to go to WebMd.com and read up on Lyme’s disease. If caught early, this can be successfully treated with antibiotics and then he is considered cured. If it is caught later, it usually needs a longer period of treatment. He will not have a life of crippling pain once he is treated. If he is having joint discomfort now, he should be using some over the counter pain medication on a regular basis while being treated. I would guess his physician has already recommended this.

I think I’ve been infected with Y2K. Does anyone know the symptoms?

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

Question by Steve R: I think I’ve been infected with Y2K. Does anyone know the symptoms?
Or maybe it’s swine flu, avian flu, west nile virus, lime tick disease, flesh eating virus or killer bees. How do I know which media frenzy has gotten the best of me? Oh wait, it’s a pedophile online trying to get into my pants.

You, definitely, exhibit all the symptoms of either Y2K or possibly you’re experiencing a “MAC ATTACK”…Take two Tylenol (caps) try and get some rest, and if in the morning it’s 1982, give my office a call. That’s 867-5309…ask for Tommy.

Has anyone had similar symptoms?

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

Question by Becca: Has anyone had similar symptoms?
OK I have asked a similar question but it was more on how to deal with joint pain. Now I am wondering if there is anyone out there that experienced the same or similar symptoms? The doctors seam to be at a loss as to what is happening? I figured that someone out there has to have been through something like this and maybe been able to be diagnosed? Here are my symptoms and yes I know I need to see a better doctor! I am gearing up for the new doctor by having an idea of where to start when I do see one!

1. Joint pain

2. Joint popping ( I think this is important because not anyone I know pops like I do. Every single joint in my body! Plus I don’t make them pop, the doctors have never been concerned about his symptom)

3. Fatigue (often simple activities take tones of energy and effort to do)

4. night owl or Circadian Rhythm problem (Meaning can’t sleep at night and if I do flip schedule it flips back no matter what I do! Also I think if my pain were controlled maybe this would not be a problem)

5. skin rash ( It is mild and usually looked over by doctors, it still is irritating and I have been tested for all std’s that would cause it… which I new that wouldn’t be it since iv been with the same partner for so long! Also lime disease at my request but they did one blood sample. I have heard the right way to test is to have multiple blood drawn at same time. I do camp a lot!)

6. irritated by noise especially at night for bed

7. frequent flu like symptoms ( when I go into ER for they always say you have flu but how many times a year is normal for someone to get sick?)

8. Have been sickly all my life (meaning I get colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu 10 to 12 times a year. I have been like this all my life vitamins do not improve and I have been tested for things like aids and other auto immune problems)

9. Gassy ( they removed my gallbladder and have had this issue since so i think its a coincidence)

10. thirsty all time ( I have been tested for diabetes, each time comes back normal)

11. weight gain increasing steadily over the last two years and i don’t eat a lot!

So that is the main ones I can think of! I know its a lot to go over but I would really appreciate anyone who has had similar symptoms or been diagnosed with something that causes these symptoms! Also have poor memory! They always say that i seem to be healthy but come on I don’t know any healthy people that can’t function normally daily! I am not depressed ether! It be nice though to have a doctor figure this out!

P.S Please no rude comments and any helpful suggestion are welcome! Thanks much!

Question by Renee Ramsay: does anyone have any good information about lyme disease?
my mother is living with lyme disease borrela, she has coinfections. the doctor she first went to didnt recognize it and because of that fact it was worse than it had to be. As I recall Lyme disease is still treatable in the later stages but it is more difficult and perhaps there is a time when the infection can no longer be treated. The longer one has it the longer it will take to clear it, I think my professor said it took a good year of treatment before her little girl really got better. Sorry I can’t be of too much help, I learned more about this organism in terms of transmission and not as much the clinical and treatment aspects of it. Is she seeing an infectious disease specialist or some related specialist? That would probably be her best bet if she is suffering from the original infection and coinfections on top of it. I hope her case is treatable and that she has a speedy and comfortable recovery!

Is anyone suffering advanced stage lyme disease and getting no help?

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Question by meganzopf: Is anyone suffering advanced stage lyme disease and getting no help?
I’ve been battling this for years, Gone to several doctors and suffered needlessly. Now I am going to a Lyme literate doctor snd hopefully start to feel better. Lyme is now considered to be the great mimicker of all diseases. RA, chronic fatigue amd ever MS are more often misdiagnosed. I have a lot of insight on this subject if snyone should need medical attention

http://www.lymeinfo.net/lymefiles.html

Go to this link and you’ll be surprised at what you read. Hope this is helpful
I have been diagnoses with chronic fatigue and I have had many diagnostic tests…brain MRI, blone scans, MRI of my wrist and several blood test. The blood test for lyme did come back positive but most conventional doctors ignore false negative and even positive. I have cyst resistant lyme now so even antibiotics useless. It is very important that you see a lyme litterate physician. I am seeing a homeopath here in CT and he has been very helpful. the cure is a very long road but you have to be patient and in most cases, you will feel worse before feeling better. I have been fighting this for years so I have nothing to loose. Be your own advocate!
I’d also like to add that I have spent thousands of dollars going through the revoling doors of several doctors and getting the same results. They can see things on films, scans, etc but no answers. One of the worst disasterous things I hear quite often is that people that are diagnosed with CFS are almost always sent to a shrink because these so called trained doctors can’t figure it out. That is a generic diagnosis when they can’t prove anything and still people suffer needlessly. It is said that lyme is the great immitator of several diseases. I hope that anyone out there that suffers with debilitating fatigue or any other symptons that have no explanation, seek help from a doctor that thinks outside the box. I am 49 now and am hoping I have a few years left in my life that is worth getting up for. Another excellent book to look into is:

It tells it all and give people the optiion to look at all treatments to consider. I really hope this helps all of you!

Does anyone know the signs of Lyme disease for a dog?

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Question by Antonio: Does anyone know the signs of Lyme disease for a dog?
I found a tick on my dog yesterday and it has biten him and left a red mark on him. I am bringing him to the Vet this afternoon.

Best answer:

Answer by Matt O
Deer ticks (carry the disease) are much smaller than youre average tick. So if it was typical size I wouldnt worry. Alot of dogs have reactions to ticks, redness, slight swelling which are not really a big deal. I believe a red ring is cause for concern and lethargic behavior is a typical symptom. Advanced symptoms can even be partial paralysis. Id go to the vet anyway hopefully they can educate you for the future b/c ticks arent really that big of a deal. I pull some off my dog every year and unless I find a small one or strange looking one Im not concerned and never had any problems. Hope everything goes okay.

I don’t know the answer to you’re question, I just came to comment.
Why did you spell it Nzymes? The real spelling is enzymes. I’m just curious.. is this the way you think its spelt or are you just shortening it for slang’s sake?
