Question by JellyBean Hippos: How sick could this make me..?
My boyfriend stayed home all last week from school because he had Broncitus (don’t know how to spell these things), an ear infection, and either lime disease or west nile in his neck. He went to the doctor last Monday and I stayed at his house from last Friday and left on Monday morning. I started getting a cold around Tuesday-ish bt now my back and neck hurts, my ears hurt, my head hurts, stomach, and still kind of cold things. Is it possible that I could have ended up with the same thing as him? Is there any other illnesses that have these symptoms?? My mom is making a doctor apointment today after work but I don’t want to go because I’m scared of needles and I cry when I get shots, is there a way that I won’t cry infront of anyone while there doing it?

You might of contracted whatever combination of things your boyfriend had unfortunately we cannot help you too much unless you go and see that doctor! Dont worry about the needles, usually they just prick your finger to draw blood these days. Oh and they have seen it ALL im sure, you wouldnt be the first to be afraid to go to the doctors. Just look at it this way, they’ll prick your finger, do some tests and give you some meds to cure whatever ailments you have. Simple right? Good luck!

Question by lol sup: Could i have mono? i have a lot of the symptoms but it’s confusing? help!
i have been ill for a few days, this is what i have been feeling
extremely tired, sleeping most of the day and my temperature has been from 101F and 104F the highest
my tonsils kind of hurt a little when i swallow food, and in the past few days ive only ate two waffles pasta and cheese and crackers because i have a very small appetite now
i did go to the doctors this afternoon and they took a strep throat test and the said i could have lime disease (no idea how i would get that, i do a big tick check anytime i go into tall grass and stuff) or mono (i have a girlfriend and we make out often during the week, 3 times a week the least, and she has no symptoms or anything)
what could this be? im taking a blood test tomorrow but i want to know what you guys think, i’m very nervous as they don’t know what could be wrong with me

Question by madi s: i think my dog had a stroke but the docter said it could be a tick whats the problem?
i heard my dog scream really loud and she couldnt move one side of her body, her limbs wouldnt work and it happend multiple times within a couple of hours. she looked like she was in a lot of pain and her pupils were different sizes from each other and she went to the bathroom during this time without knowing im thinking because if the pain she was in. we went to the doc and they said she could have lime disease but i dont think this is true.

let’s face it, every single one of those symptoms that your dog had are exactly what makes a stroke. if your dog had all of those symptoms i am very sure that you are correct about it being a stroke, one side of the body paralysis is a big symptom,as well as differently sized pupils.

Question by sc2linkfan2k5: my Pomeranian of 1 years old has this big dark brown spot on her side. what do you think it could be?
were taking her to the vet tomarrow. my parents say that it could be ring worm, a tick, or lime disease (sp). does anyone have any idea what it could be? btw its about the size of a half dollar.
Best answer:
Answer by Scooter
Does it have a raised ridge around the circle? If so, that sounds like ringworm. Did she have a tick on her in that spot? It is really hard to diagnose in cyberspace but I bet your vet can tell you right away!

Question by Kat Kiwi: Could I still have effects from Lyme Disease?
I had Lyme Disease with Viral Meningitis in 2001, and I was wondering if I could still have long term effects from it. I have nerve damage in my feet and my nerve doctor thinks I may become diabetic later in life. Is there anything else that could pop up later in my life.

Question by Colleen M: What other ways besides tick bites could I have contracted Lyme disease?
After ~ 6 months of symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease. I never had a tick bite or a rash that I was aware of – how else could I have gotten it?
I actually went to my new Dr. today – she’s a chronic illness specialist. I learned some interesting things: 1. lyme can be passed through sexual intercourse as well as blood tranfusions. 2. Mosquitos, spiders, and fleas can also be culprits. Its rare for those other buggers, but it is a possibility. Who knew?
She also said that I probably did get it as a child (I am now 25) but it stayed dormsnt until some sort of stress activated it. Craziness, right?

Question by Patches and Oscar: I have a six year old cocker bleeding for her behind. She is fixed . What could be causing this ?
About an hour ago we noticed blood on the floor and it was coming from our dog . Not a lot of blood . She is on thyroid meds and something for lime disease . She is cleaning herself and doesn’t seem to be in any pain . She isn’t crying or not playing ball when we go outside . She seems to get around just fine . We just got back from vacation and as always she was having fun with us and didn’t get hurt or eat anything she wasn’t supposed to . I will call the vet in the morning but I worry so much about her all the time and I would be lost without her .
Best answer:
Answer by Tikled_Ivory
It might be as simple constipation. Have you seen her stools. Keep an eye on her, and see your vet if she continues.

Question by berryblonde59: My husband has been sick for 9 weeks. The doctor ruled out West Nile and Lyme disease, what could it be?
He has all the symptoms of West Nile and Lyme disease, but all blood work was negative.
Best answer:
Answer by Super_Star
Your question imposes on someone to look up the symptoms for Lyme and Nile, then guess from there which symptoms he has. No one can have all the symptoms of both, but I’ll bite. I suppose you’re hoping a physician would answer, but even if one did, they’d still need to know a lot more than you gave.
Having said that, I’d suggest you look up parasitic infestations as well as auto-immune deficiencies like Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, etc. Make a list of questions for ANOTHER doctor appointment and don’t diagnose him from the internet.
Also, just so you know, many symptoms of those symptoms are actually allergies.(Not just the standard pollen, but anything from mites to solvents that he may be in contact with. Pay attention to when he’s most ill and where he has been). He should perhaps get an allergy panel done. Don’t plan his demise yet!
Good luck.
