Healing people with a computer?

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Question by txinchin: Healing people with a computer?
My boyfriend’s mother is convinced that a man named Herbert that she knows in Florida is able to cure any person of any illness or pain by doing a “treatment.” It sounds plausible until she continues: he does all of this by computer. Without being near you or ever having met you, she claims this man can pull up a map of your body on his computer and check you out. Riiiiiiight… Today my boyfriend and I went to the doctor where he was diagnosed with a straggling case of the flu and horrendous hayfever, yet his mother is refusing to allow him to take medicine. Instead, she assures him that Herbert has found out that my boyfriend has lime disease and after the “treatment” scheduled for this afternoon, he’ll feel fine again. Now, I know this woman is out of her friggin’ mind, but does anyone else out there actually believe this? Does anyone have proof for or against it? Should I just call the men in white coats to take her away now?
PS: Yes, she is indeed paying Herbert. For my boyfriend’s “check-up” and “treatment,” Herbert will rake in $ 250, mere pocket change compared to the hundreds, possibly THOUSANDS more she’s paid him to get rid of her cancer.

Thats insane! It would be ok if it was her own choice but forcing her own child not to take meds for the flu? Thats just wrong..

Needed: People who have contracted Lyme disease?

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Question by D.S.Rodriguez: Needed: People who have contracted Lyme disease?
For a school paper I must do, I must find a person who has had Lyme disease before. Unfortunately, in my city I have not found anyone. I would appreciate if the people in which the above applies would tell in detail their experience, from the first signs to their cure. As I said, include feelings, emotions, and anything significant. Thank you for your support!

Well I had Lyme’s disease, but it wasn’t as bad as some cases are. At any rate…

I was walking out in some grass one day, never found a tick or anything, checked head-to-toe. But later I got an itchy rash on my leg, thought “oh it’s just a mosquito bite, it will go away.” So yeah, didn’t worry. I kept scratching it though and it got worse than any mosquito bite, like, ever! Then it got the target sign… so I went to a doctor. They did a blood test (ugh) and it was “inconclusive”, but even without the test they were pretty sure it was Lyme’s! So they gave me antibiotics. I took them and got better! Also until it was cured I felt really tired 24/7 and had random muscle aches…

Hope this helps

What percent of people bitten by a tick develop lyme disease?

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

Question by Mike G: What percent of people bitten by a tick develop lyme disease?
Does anyone have a link to definitive medical research on the specific question? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Dekayel
If the tick isn’t infected, than the person who gets bitten won’t catch anything. Are you asking how many people bitten by INFECTED ticks actually get sick? That may depend upon whether the tick was removed before it could transmit the bacteria–or not. May also depend upon how strong your personal immune system is. More useful questions are: have you been bitten by a tick? Do you think you might have LYme disease? If so, get it checked out.

Q&A: my dog has lyme disease and doctor says force feed him and give him pills. Can I give him people food?

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

Question by Cooper: my dog has lyme disease and doctor says force feed him and give him pills. Can I give him people food?

to clarify my dog is not eating or drinking because he is sick with lyme. I need to give him pills with food but he wants nothing to do with his food. If I give him bread with peanut butter he will eat it- is this ok? I don’t want him to refuse his food because I have now started giving him some people food.

Best answer:

Answer by I love my rottie :)
Yes you can give him people food. Some people feed their dogs only “people food”; this takes much research of course :)

Try mixing the pill in yogurt, cottage cheese, bread….really anything soft! They also sell things at Petsmart called “pill pockets”. It is a little soft treat with a hole in it, you stick the pill in the hole and squish it closed.

I usually just stick the pill down the throat; if you are not comfortable doing this, sneaking it in food is fine. Moderation is the key :)

Yes, feeding him bread with peanut butter will be fine. Your dog needs to eat to keep his strength. You can make his food until he gets better. Boil chicken or ground beef, mix with rice and maybe some boiled egg or cottage cheese. It is a very healthy diet that most dogs can’t refuse! He needs his energy to strengthen his immune system.

Please do not listen to these people who say no people food…what do you think is in dog food? Meat, rice, and veggies! With the right ratios a home cooked diet is better than a kibble; kibble is easier and quicker for most pet owners. I have extensively researched dog nutrition; it IS okay to feed people food.

foods poisonous to dogs
grapes/ or raisins
onions
apple SEEDS

Question by Ityiyam: How many people do you know suffer from Severe cases of Lyme disease?
I have recently been diagnosed with it. It attacks my heart and my entire nervious system. Ive had it for 8 months now…(but I found out about it 1 month ago). Statistics state that 75% of people infected with it (untreated) die from it in 5-6 months. Am I that 25% or is this being alive untreated thing a common occurance?

Best answer:

Answer by Dekayel
You have been misinformed. There are no statistics showing that 75% of people with Lyme die in 5-6 months. Not true.

That being said, Lyme is a serious infection that can attack the heart and nervous system, as you said. It can also cause many other symptoms. It is important that you be treated by a Lyme specialist who understands all the ramifications of Lyme and its co-infections. You also need to educate yourself. Here are some good websites to start:

Good sources of info about Lyme disease:

I especially recommend that you join the on-line conversations at lymenet.org–you’ll meet many many people who are going through what you’re going through, and they can help point you in useful directions. Good luck.

Why people who own pets refuse to accept studies?

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Question by wiseornotyoudecide: Why people who own pets refuse to accept studies?
There is an 85% chance of a child to develop parasitic problems in homes with indoor domestic pets. There is a 73% chance of anyone in a home with indoor domestic pets to develop lime disease.
Dogs are carriers of gonorrhea and the number one reason humans have it is letting their best friend lick them. There is plenty more why people who own pets refuse to accept them?

Best answer:

I’m pretty sure people love their pets more than those facts.
