Question by ling ling: If a person had lyme disease before, can it recur?
If you were bitten by a tick and was already treated for the lyme disease, are you still capable of getting the symptoms of the disease through your life? Is there a way to get completely cured from it?

Many people find that the “standard” treatment for Lyme disease doesn’t do the job. They may feel better for a while, but relapses are common–days, weeks, months, or even years later.

If you have a history of a tick bite and are experiencing symptoms, it behooves you to find out as much as you can about Lyme and related problems–and find someone who really knows how to help you. (Alas, most doctors know little about tick-borne illness. Sad but true.)

If you do not take the proper antibiotics during pregnancy, you will probably pass the Lyme on to your children. Lyme has many possible combinations of symptoms. It may or may not involve Bell’s palsy in your children.

Is a person with lyme disease contagious to other humans?

Question by Soren Petersen: Is a person with lyme disease contagious to other humans?
Can you transmit lyme disease to other people like other infections?

Lyme disease is not contagious, so you can’t catch it from another person. But you can get it more than once from ticks that live on deer, in the woods, or travel on your pets. So continue to practice caution even if you’ve already had Lyme disease.

Q&A: Whats the possibility of a person being diagnosed with ALS but actually having Lyme disease?

Question by Megan P: Whats the possibility of a person being diagnosed with ALS but actually having Lyme disease?
My father was diagnosed with ALS almost three years ago and i’ve heard of people being wrongly diagnosed with ALS but really having Lyme disease. Is there any possibility that this could be the case for my father. Also if anyone has ever had this happen to you or a loved one please share your story.

I work with people who have been diagnosed with als and have heard of things like this a couple of times.

The thing I have heard is actually more on the lines of the Lyme disease triggering als. Then as the Lyme disease is treated, the als is no longer triggered and the person’s condition stabilizes or improves.

I am only hearing of this second hand.

Here is one article where the person says that is what happened in his case.

In addition, there are things that can be done both about Lyme disease and als that are not commonly used, such as using mind body and holistic methods to solve the problem. I have been teaching people how to do this for a while now and have seen good results for people experiencing all kinds of conditions. So there is another area you could research to help your father heal.

Stress has a lot to do with the creation of disease and can factor into the creation of both Lyme disease and als.

There are some ideas on my website is at creatingparadise.net.

There is much more information out there as well.

Q&A: How long does it usually take a person with lyme disease to go blind?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Question by lipsmacker6: How long does it usually take a person with lyme disease to go blind?
….that is, IF their condition of lyme disease is affecting their vision at all? I don’t know if I have lyme disease, by the way, and I won’t know until I see the doctor a couple of days from now. Just that in case I do have it, I can have an idea of what to expect. In addition to the severe arthritis pains I’ve been getting, chest pains, and slight eye twitches, my vision seems a bit blurrier than usual…..

Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected blacklegged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system. Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms, physical findings (e.g., rash), and the possibility of exposure to infected ticks; laboratory testing is helpful in the later stages of disease. Most cases of Lyme disease can be treated successfully with a few weeks of antibiotics.

Is it possible for a person to get cured from Lyme disease without medication?

Question by Cre-8-ive: Is it possible for a person to get cured from Lyme disease without medication?
I was recently tested and the doctor says that I have Lyme disease antibodies in my system, but I don’t have illness itself.
He said that at some point in my life I contracted it, but I don’t have it now.
I was never treated for Lyme Disease!

Wierd as it sounds its a possibility that you did come into contact with B.burgdoferi( Lyme disease pathogen).
The most probable answer is that you might have come into contact with a very minute strain of the pathogen at some point in your life, too small to cause an infection but significant enough to cause an antibody reaction.
You may say that you were naturally immunised….like a vaccine.
More likely if you lived in Conneticut (for which it is well known).
