I think I’ve been infected with Y2K. Does anyone know the symptoms?

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

Question by Steve R: I think I’ve been infected with Y2K. Does anyone know the symptoms?
Or maybe it’s swine flu, avian flu, west nile virus, lime tick disease, flesh eating virus or killer bees. How do I know which media frenzy has gotten the best of me? Oh wait, it’s a pedophile online trying to get into my pants.

You, definitely, exhibit all the symptoms of either Y2K or possibly you’re experiencing a “MAC ATTACK”…Take two Tylenol (caps) try and get some rest, and if in the morning it’s 1982, give my office a call. That’s 867-5309…ask for Tommy.

Has anyone had similar symptoms?

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

Question by Becca: Has anyone had similar symptoms?
OK I have asked a similar question but it was more on how to deal with joint pain. Now I am wondering if there is anyone out there that experienced the same or similar symptoms? The doctors seam to be at a loss as to what is happening? I figured that someone out there has to have been through something like this and maybe been able to be diagnosed? Here are my symptoms and yes I know I need to see a better doctor! I am gearing up for the new doctor by having an idea of where to start when I do see one!

1. Joint pain

2. Joint popping ( I think this is important because not anyone I know pops like I do. Every single joint in my body! Plus I don’t make them pop, the doctors have never been concerned about his symptom)

3. Fatigue (often simple activities take tones of energy and effort to do)

4. night owl or Circadian Rhythm problem (Meaning can’t sleep at night and if I do flip schedule it flips back no matter what I do! Also I think if my pain were controlled maybe this would not be a problem)

5. skin rash ( It is mild and usually looked over by doctors, it still is irritating and I have been tested for all std’s that would cause it… which I new that wouldn’t be it since iv been with the same partner for so long! Also lime disease at my request but they did one blood sample. I have heard the right way to test is to have multiple blood drawn at same time. I do camp a lot!)

6. irritated by noise especially at night for bed

7. frequent flu like symptoms ( when I go into ER for they always say you have flu but how many times a year is normal for someone to get sick?)

8. Have been sickly all my life (meaning I get colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu 10 to 12 times a year. I have been like this all my life vitamins do not improve and I have been tested for things like aids and other auto immune problems)

9. Gassy ( they removed my gallbladder and have had this issue since so i think its a coincidence)

10. thirsty all time ( I have been tested for diabetes, each time comes back normal)

11. weight gain increasing steadily over the last two years and i don’t eat a lot!

So that is the main ones I can think of! I know its a lot to go over but I would really appreciate anyone who has had similar symptoms or been diagnosed with something that causes these symptoms! Also have poor memory! They always say that i seem to be healthy but come on I don’t know any healthy people that can’t function normally daily! I am not depressed ether! It be nice though to have a doctor figure this out!

P.S Please no rude comments and any helpful suggestion are welcome! Thanks much!

Symptoms: hair loss, aching joints, loss of energy….What are theses symptoms of?

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

Question by lil mama: Symptoms: hair loss, aching joints, loss of energy….What are theses symptoms of?
I had a baby 6 months ago, so the hair loss I was told could be because of that…..However I’ve also noticed that I become extremely tired within hrs. of getting out of bed, the joint pain comes and goes, but has gotten worse over the past few weeks, it’s primarily in my knees, fingers, toes, and wrists. I’ve also noticed some weakness, my noticed my knee will just give out and buckle or my wrist and fingers won’t let me pick things up. Someone told me it could be Lime Disease, but there is no rash. Any ideas? I know it could be a quincidece that these are all happening at onc, but it’s kidda scaring me.
Apparently it’s caused my ability to spell to malfunction as well, sorry about that.

Lyme Disease: The Three Main Symptoms You Should Be Aware Of

Lyme disease may not be fatal, but if not treated early, may result in a very difficult conditions that will last the rest of your life. Prevent getting Lyme Disease (which can cause major health complications) by watching for certain symptoms following a tick bite.

Keep an eye out for a reddish rash or influenza-like symptoms

Early indications, such as rash, fever, muscle and joint pain, headache and chills, may not be recognized as Lyme Disease. If you develop a rash near the area of the tick bite and the onset of flu-like symptoms, you should consult a doctor immediately. While the rash may become bigger and spread out, other signs that are similar to those of the flu remain for a longer period. Be sure to bring your symptoms to the attention of your doctor in order to ensure that appropriate treatment is received. Doctor-prescribed antibiotics will generally be able to deal with Lyme disease in the early stages of the infection.

Check out your annoying joint aches

There are other patients who do not experience the early signs of Lyme disease. You may not be aware that the infection is spreading and getting worse inside you when you start feeling muscle and joint pains. If joint pain is not treated immediately, it can get inflamed over time and lead to chronic arthritis. It would be best to talk with your doctor if any of these pains start happening after a tick bite.

Keep the neurological symptoms in mind

If Lyme disease is left untreated, neurological indications usually appear. These symptoms consist of numb feelings in the arms and legs, poor concentration and loss of memory, a stiff neck, and also paralyzed facial nerves. In the later stage of Lyme disease fainting and heart problems occur in addition to other previously mentioned neurological symptoms.

See your doctor if you develop any signs of illness after a tick bite. Go for a check up and diagnosis even without the red rash and other signs that usually indicate Lyme disease so you can immediately obtain proper treatment. Signs and symptoms of Lyme disease may vary greatly from person to person. Others show a few signs, while some patients with other existing diseases show more signs of Lyme disease. Additional symptoms to watch for are throat soreness, pain of the jaw, inflammation of the eye, infection in the ear and issues with the liver.

Several medical focused internet sites offer concise information about the symptoms of Lyme. A really good one is Lyme Disease Blog at http://www.lymediseaseblog.com/lyme-disease-symptoms/

Malaria disease- Symptoms and Treatment

Malaria is an infectious and dangerous disease, killing around three million people across the globe every year. The life taking disease is caused by a parasite, Plasmodium that infects the red blood cells. Malaria infection is recognized by cycles of chills, fever, pain and sweating. Malaria is primarily caused by four protozoan species of Plasmodium, namely-
• Plasmodium falciparum.
• Plasmodium vivax.
• Plasmodium ovale.

The infected mosquito injects the parasite into the bloodstream of a person which travels to the liver to increase their number through multiplication. During the time of multiplication, there is no Malaria symptoms will be noticed, and even you won’t feel sick.

Doctors advised that Malaria treatment should be started within 24 hours after noticing the first sign of the disease. There are three major factors that determine the Malaria treatment, and they are as follows-
• The infecting species of Plasmodium parasite
• Situation and age group of the patient because the same treatment won’t be applicable on adult, child or pregnant female.
• The Drug vulnerability of the infecting plasmodium parasite which is determined by the area patient belongs.

Mild Malaria can be cured with oral medication, whereas severe Malaria demands intravenous drug treatment. Always take the medicine as per the guidance of the doctor to overcome the disease completely.

No, the symptoms are really different.

But HIV and Lupus are pretty standard tests when someone has meningitis. They’re the worst case causes, so they like to get those ruled out quickly.
