Question by sweetvelocity: What is the best test for lyme disease?
I read that the tests are not very accurate. What test would be the best?
Thank you.

The most accurate DNA test is the PCR. If some one tests negative with the PCR but is still symptomatic, they should be tested with the ELISA/Western Blot series to confirm

I can only say if you have had all those tests;your daughter might be suffering from a Psycho-somatic disorder.Stress will give her those sort of symptoms. My recomendation would be to try a Hypnotherapist. You would be surprised what they can achieve.

Question by chris p: If i go to the doctors for a lyme disease test, will nicotine show up in my system
i have a lyme disease blood test at 10 am. I smoke a newports, will it show up on the test, or is it just for lyme.
you see, i just want to know if the the tobacco will show up in the blood test
Best answer:
Answer by HP
The lyme’s disease test shouldn’t be affected by tobacco products.
Be aware the current lyme tests can produce both false positives and negatives.
If you have a “bullseye” pattern bite site, just take the doxycycolene for two weeks. Ask your doc about this.

Question by notadummyrat: Is it true that once you have had Lyme disease you will always test positive for it?
I had Lyme disease about 10 years ago and I just found a tick on me. Is it true that no matter what I will always test positive for the disease now? How do I know if I have it again then?
Best answer:
Answer by yidlmama
I have heard that doctor’s can only control it with the use of antibiotics. Yes, it will show up in your blood forever. Were you bit by the tick that you found?? If I were you, I would let your physician know that you have been sick from it before and that you recently found a tick and you want to be put on antibiotics for safe measure.
My husband is being treated for it now!!! Hopefully this will keep him from being in so much pain. He is in the desimated or chronic stage of Lyme’s disease.
