Question by britta: my dog has ticks!! help me please!?!?!?
my doggie has some ticks. my mommy won’t let her inside, only in the garage because she’s afraid we’ll get lime disease. how would we be able to let her in without letting the ticks jump around on us and the rest of the house? how can we get rid of the ticks? WITHOUT TOUCHING THEM!

bring your doggie to a vet as soon as you can. the vet can take the ticks off safely without hurting the dog. make sure its soon because the ticks can make the dog very sick.

Answer by Blacky~ iestá detrás!
anything with Deet should effectively repel bugs and ticks, although it may be bad for the environment, I would go with this, because it is best for you. Although if you do happen to be feeling especially tired and achy, especially at the joints, or have red rings anywhere on you, go get tested for lime disease. I am only a teen and have had lyme twice, and am perfectly fine (once with rings, once without), if you get tested and it is discovered fairly early, you will be fine!

Question by Drizzt D: question about seed ticks?
ok my neigbors have been rolling in seed ticks it seems. yesterday they pulled more than 30 ticks off of there oldest child my question is if they pull one and leave the head isn’t that a good way of getting lime disease and or other types of infections?
Best answer:
Answer by Incognito
I don’t know where you live but 30 seed ticks is not that many. Here, in the Ozarks they swarm by the 100′s. Anyway, I wouldn’t worry about the heads still being in. The bits may itch more and swell more but shouldn’t be a problem. By the way, a good way to deal with seed ticks next time is duct tape. Just stick it to the tick and pull it off.

This volume contains the Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Ticks and Tick-borne Pathogens (TTP-4), held in Banff, Alberta, Canada, from 21 to 26 July 2002. TTP-4 continues an important tradition established in 1992 at the first Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, and developed subsequently at the Kruger National Park, South Africa (1995) and the High Tatra Mountains, Slovakia (1999). The 31 papers published in this special issue are divided between six sessions, with a keynote address as an introduction. The first session, which deals with biosystematics, genomics and proteomics of ticks, contains the most recent world list of valid tick names. The papers deal with a broad range of tick-host-pathogen interactions, inclu

Question by Lyssa: What do the ticks that give the lyme disease look like?
I’m concerned, because lately, ticks have been found in my home.
My father’s going to be spraying the area to ward off the ticks, but the ones inside the house are what I’m worrying about.
I’ve found mostly brown ticks that are the size of a small pearl, and one was slightly larger than an eraser. I’m not sure if I found another tick; it’s incredibly tiny and I killed it, but I can’t be positive if it’s a tick. Tell me what to look for, so I can be prepared!

Question by caring soul: what are the symptoms of lyme disease or having ticks in dogs?
what are the symptoms for lyme disease and ticks in dogs???
Best answer:
Answer by coooooooooooooooooooooool
Infected dogs may be lethargic, have a poor/loss of appetite, or a fever (103° – 105 ° F). Dogs may also experience lameness shifting from one joint to another, fatigue, kidney damage or failure, heart disorders, or neurologic involvement (e.g. aggression, confusion, overeating, seizures). Dogs can be infected with the Lyme bacterium but not exhibit any noticeable symptoms. Dogs appear to have the same expression of disease as humans, therefore, humans have been considered an animal model for dogs. Transplacental transmission has occurred in dogs.

it’s nasty. i wont break down the symptoms for you, look at webmd for that. not all ticks have it however. it’s usually just deer ticks (the realllllly small ones–like diameter of a pencil tip)

Question by : how do you remove ticks without ripping there heads off?
I don’t want to have lime disease
Best answer:
Answer by rowdysunsetart
either ice, leave it on for a few min and see if they dont pull out but I found that oil is the best…if it is oil (anykind) or vasaline…wait at least 5 to 10 min to see if they will pull out themselves…they breath thru the body.or heat.a inscense stick is what I have used but be very careful not to touch the skin……put aloe vera on it after you get it out which draws out any poisons…hope it helps
