let’s face it, every single one of those symptoms that your dog had are exactly what makes a stroke. if your dog had all of those symptoms i am very sure that you are correct about it being a stroke, one side of the body paralysis is a big symptom,as well as differently sized pupils.

Patients can relapse with any and all of the original symptoms, develop new ones and progressively deteriorate as time goes by. Lyme disease can cause pain and may affect the ability to walk and may limit the range of motion. Speech, writing skills, or communication problems may worsen. Many patients become bedridden or house bound. Damage to the brain and other organs can result.

Make sure you have an effective MD that can treat Lyme and hope it’s caught early – (google some lyme sites)
for better help.

Q&A: Whats the possibility of a person being diagnosed with ALS but actually having Lyme disease?

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

Question by Megan P: Whats the possibility of a person being diagnosed with ALS but actually having Lyme disease?
My father was diagnosed with ALS almost three years ago and i’ve heard of people being wrongly diagnosed with ALS but really having Lyme disease. Is there any possibility that this could be the case for my father. Also if anyone has ever had this happen to you or a loved one please share your story.

I work with people who have been diagnosed with als and have heard of things like this a couple of times.

The thing I have heard is actually more on the lines of the Lyme disease triggering als. Then as the Lyme disease is treated, the als is no longer triggered and the person’s condition stabilizes or improves.

I am only hearing of this second hand.

Here is one article where the person says that is what happened in his case.

In addition, there are things that can be done both about Lyme disease and als that are not commonly used, such as using mind body and holistic methods to solve the problem. I have been teaching people how to do this for a while now and have seen good results for people experiencing all kinds of conditions. So there is another area you could research to help your father heal.

Stress has a lot to do with the creation of disease and can factor into the creation of both Lyme disease and als.

There are some ideas on my website is at creatingparadise.net.

There is much more information out there as well.

Q&A: What’s the difference between meningitis and lyme disease?

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Question by paige rocker: What’s the difference between meningitis and lyme disease?
I was recently diagnosed with lyme disease and my symptoms fit it to a T, headache, stiff neck, and all. However, my mom is worried because lyme can turn into meningitis and my neck/head are hurting worse than ever. Both have the same symptoms. Is there a way I can tell if it is meningitis without getting a spinal tap (major fear of needles…)

Thanks!

Meningitis is inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord, known collectively as the meninges. Meningitis may develop in response to a number of causes, usually bacteria, viruses and other pathogens, but also physical injury, cancer or certain drugs

Lyme disease, or borreliosis, is an emerging infectious disease caused by at least three species of bacteria belonging to the genus Borrelia (such as ticks)
